The Vibration of Color in Healing

In color therapy, as you can imagine, it is the vibrations and frequencies and the contrasting energies between light and dark hues that are the basis of the therapeutics; likewise, the color of the candle selected for your specific intention will serve as a mechanism of your connection with the intention throughout your ceremony.

The color vibrations of your candle will reverberate to the vibrations within your mind, body and spirit and elevate the ceremony and the energy exchange between you and the candle.  This attunement was like plucking a string of a harp and, when in perfect harmony, oscillates at a frequency that vibrates in perfect pitch with another string very close to it.

Pythagoras believed that it was essential that human beings learn to attune their physical bodies and their immaterial soul to a frequency that was harmonically aligned with the ‘music of the spheres’ or, the benevolence of the Creator’s love for humanity. These are essentially the same exact principles that are used in color therapies, homeopathies, interior decorating, cosmetics, fashion and so on today.

In fact, Pythagoras, back in the 6th century BCE understood that having disharmony in one’s life was the precursor to disease and that having a right diet, in harmony with nature, along with music and color therapy would keep people in a better state of health. Pythagoras believed that perfect health involved the proper harmony and attunement of both body and soul.

Pythagoras believed that there were approximately ten (10) binary polarities and a few of these would be as follows: curve/line, good/evil, 1,0, light/dark, rest/motion, odd/even, square/oblong, expand/contract, unconditional/judgment and light/dark. As with the light spectrum, light being invisible, that the spectrum ranged from light to dark; this is most notable in the yin/yang symbol in which one sees the black and white polarities.

In the yin/yang symbol, the non-binary exists in each of the polarities, black and white, as seen in the little dots of the opposite’s contrasted color within each polarity. This is the human experience of never being able to experience the pure extreme of any polarity. This was established by the Monad who, from the beginning, is and will be the only one that knows the experience of pure black and pure white.  It is with this in mind that only you, the individual who is setting his or her intention can really know which colors are best for your candle, glitter, etc.

Those who are practiced in the Philosophy of Fire and how and why the transmutation of the fire element in our lives is an essential daily practice would always suggest that a person incorporate his or her 'astral' or astrological colored candle into a ceremony for heightened influence.  Every astrological sign has a primary and secondary candle color that is considered significant because it is a color is therapeutic and harmonious to that sign.

In fact, the reason why color therapy emerged as a healing agent is due to its ancient alignment with the invisible light of the 'central sun' that is not only the giver of life to the Universe but as the energetic force within every human body.  It was, in Hippocratic terms, the 'central, innate heat' or 'vital force'.
